Support of the pelvic floor structures start with symmetry and proper hip alignment. The Adjust-A-Lift heel lift is an inexpensive way to provide proper alignment of the hips for slight variations in leg lengths.

Roughly 4% of the US population have a genetic difference in leg length not attributed to other hip issues which may cause the appearance of a Leg Length Discrepancy.  Furthermore, patients who have undergone total hip or knee surgery may also have, as a result of surgery, a change in leg length as well.

Simple questions to ask yourself:

• When you stand or walk do you tire more quickly on one side or the other?
• Does your level of discomfort get worse after standing or walking?

• Do you feel like you have lost muscle tone and walk with more of a “swing the leg” gait rather than lifting your leg evenly one side to the other?

• Do you have a history of a broken leg or joint replacement?
• Is your pain more severe on one side?

The Adjust-A-Lift Heel Lift is a very high quality, versatile item that is helpful in treating a wide range of symptoms arising from the effects of leg length inequality. Low back pain, hip pain and knee pain are some of the more common conditions associated with leg length deficiencies.  Adjust-A-Lift Heel Lift has also proved effective in the treatment of some foot and ankle conditions such as plantar fasciitis, heel spurs and Achilles tendonitis.

The Adjust-A-Lift Heel Lift is made with three layers of extra firm, open cell foam rubber, each 1/8 inch thick, held together with double-sided adhesive. This combination results in only three sizes being needed because the layers can be removed to accommodate the height required up to approximately ½ inch.  A top covering of suede leather completes the lift.
